Oh just one thing, I think I said it is Windows XP Home so is the first command Win Key+R still the same? I only ask in case you are thinking of Windows 7.

Dear Eleanor, If you're sure you're up to this, press WinKey+R, type regedit into the dialog box and press enter. Regedit should open. Press LeftArrow a few times until you hear, "My Computer closed 1 of 1." Next, press Ctrl+F, type in K1000 and press Alt+F. The search may take a while so don't worry if you don't hear anything for a few seconds. When/if something matches, make sure it's to do with K1000 and not an incidental match. Press the Delete key (the bottom left key in the cluster of six keys above the arrow keys) and press Enter to confirm. Press F3 to search again and repeat as above until a message box pops up saying you've reached the end. Click on OK and press Alt+F4 to close Regedit and you're done! After that, you can try installing K1000 again, good luck, John
