Eleanor,

From whom did you or your agency get your JAWS? blazie UK is, if you like,
a carry-over from the former company called Blazie Engineering in the US who
merged with Henter-Joyce (then US developers and main distributors of JAWS)
to form what we know as Freedom Scientific, Inc. Blazie did the 'braille
side' - developed stuff like the Braille 'N Speak and Braille Lite versions
prior to 2001 when FS was formed. So, S&S is not a UK replica of Freedom
Scientific, nor is Blazie UK. There are UK people who get their JAWS
through Blazie UK, as I've heard accounted. (I guess, however, that Blazie
are in these cases a reseller for Sight And Sound.) RNIB also redistributes
JAWS? (Much the same would apply to them.)

Tony this is very interesting indeed. Now I know of Sight and Sound
Technologies but interestingly I had always thought of Blazie Engineering
who are representatives for Freedom Scientific being the main suppliers of
Jaws. I contacted them, Blazie re the Braille Blazer, a Freedom Scientific
product only to learn of Sight and Sound also selling Jaws. I will have to
contact Sight and Sound re this Dongle. I only got to know of the Dongle
through the guy at Blazie. Never made an inquiry about the price so I have
that shock to come yet. That was great infkormation Paul passed on to me/us
this morning.
