Hi Jenny
You may have read or may subsequently read now if you are going through your
e-mails that Flor Lynch spoke about this and how it is really just a warning in
our case. Paul H also sent me an e-mail again related to it and that time I
did not get the warning. It related to a Jaws site as far as I can tell. At
present I am not a Jaws user so not familiar with that site. I use Supernova
but has got myself a copy of Jaws so who know I might be plauging everyone with
questions re Jaws but relax everybody not yet. I just needed Jaws because I
study with the Open University and the tutor marks the assignments on-line.
They are then returned to us with written comments which the tutor does on the
computer but outside the margins. I sent one of my assignments to Paul Traynor
to see if he could read it with Jaws because Supernova does not offer this
facility. He could and said it read very well so I bought a copy of Jaws. I
notice mainly the people on this list seem to use Jaws rather than Supernova.
I think maybe only one other person using Supernova. I find that my computer
crashes several times a day, or at least it did with AVG 7.5 but now it onoy
crashes about once a day. Again Supernova seems to be crashing. I do not know
why because when I report to Dolphin I get a stupid reply like 'nobody has ever
told us this before'!

    Subject: [vip_students] Avast Potential Threat

    Hi
I had 3 e-mails this morning on the list from Paul Halligan. My new Avast
advised me to delete as they were a potential virus threat due to suspious file
extension. I am sorry Paul but I did this. If you would like to send again if
there is anything that you feel might interest or apply to me that is fine.
Wonder if anyone else had this problem with your e-mails since installing
Avast. In all the time I used AVG 7.5 or any version I never got a message
like this so Avast must be good but I hope it is not picking up things which
are not threats.

    Best

    Eleanor
