If you are holding yhour phone facing you with the numbers in a vertical or
portrait position, screen rotation turns the text on the screen to landscape.
If that is the case you would probably want to turn your phone on its side but
that would be awkward for using the keypad. However if it is turned off,
particularly for visually impaired users it stops Talks getting somewhat
confused at times. I just thought that might have been another idea to try and
resolve your problem. Did you manage to resolve it roslyn? Did you ensure
that you had not reverted the cursor to original mode and that it was on
character so that you could move across the contacts fields. I trust you know
how to do this. You press Talks key and then hold down the number two for a
few seconds. It will say somethng like Word. If you do not want word at a
time press Talks key again and long press number 2 on the keypad and it will
say either original or character. There are the 3 positions. You want
character. Let me know if you are still stuck and we can try and think of
something else.

      Hi Eleanor,

Thanks for this. I couldn't find the exact setting on my phone. What
does screen rotation do?

hi Joan-Anne I am wondering if you ever resoved your problem re
contacts. In case not please try this also.

Go to the menu, Tools, Settings, General, Display, then down to Screen
Rotation. You will probably find this is set to auto. Press the square joypad
to change it, and turn it off. Back out of the settings.

Note on my N96 I had to go from General to Profiles to display but I am
sure you will be able to work around this on your particular model of phone
Joan-Anne.

        Eleanor
