IT Resources, Services and Assistance for Manufacturers - Tuesday, September 13 @ 10:00-11:00 am in the Hiller Building Quiet Lounge at Penn State DuBois.  Are you a small or mid-sized manufacturer in northwest PA? Save This Important Date:  We are pleased to announce plans for an October 19th Pennsylvania Worker’s Compensation/Unemployment Compensation Issues  Conference  co-sponsored by the Greater DuBois Chamber of Commerce  and the Human Resource Management Association of North Central Pennsylvania (SHRM).  Representatives from the PA Unemployment Compensation Board of Review and Workers’ Compensation Board, members of safety committees of area businesses  and labor attorneys will address legal, hearing and appeal processes and general WC/UC  issues of current interest to area employers and attorneys.  This program will be submitted to the HR Certification Institute and the Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board for review for continuing education credits.  Watch for further details and reservation information for this important event which will be held at the DuBois Country Club.

The DuBois Area Historical Society has planned a busy fall, leading off with its fifth annual open house on Saturday, Sept. 10, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. This event, which is free and open to the public, has attracted large numbers of visitors to the Society’s museum over the past four years.

A request for the Chamber businesses: Clearfield-Jefferson Drug & Alcohol Commission is working with a group of students to reduce underage drinking among area students.  Red Ribbon Week is October 24-28.  To support these efforts please decorate your business and storefronts in red for this week.  Students will be making posters with the theme “Make Your Mark” on them, and would appreciate it if local businesses would display these posters during the week.  This is unique opportunity for our community and schools to come together to work towards promoting a drug free community.  To offer your b usiness location or to get further information contact Malissa at mmartino@xxxxxxxxx .
