Project
Update for Week of Sept. 20 –
New
traffic patterns for South Main Street and Dixon Avenue will begin on
September
21. The following information is an update for PennDOT’s Hospital
Avenue/Dixon Avenue realignment project in DuBois for the week of
Sept. 20.
All work is weather dependent. ·
Beginning
on
Tuesday, Sept. 21, new traffic patterns will be in place on South Main
Street.
The contractor will be working in the center lane on South Main Street.
Traffic
delays are expected. Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes. ·
Beginning
on
Tuesday, Sept. 21, new traffic patterns will be in place on Dixon
Avenue. Dixon
Avenue will be restricted to one lane between Brady Street and Hospital
Avenue.
Dixon Avenue will be one way until further notice. Traffic will only be
able to
travel from Brady Street to Hospital Avenue. All other traffic will
need to
follow the signed detour. ·
The
contractor
will be seeding and mulching various locations on the project. The overall project
will
re-align Hospital Avenue with Dixon Avenue. Work includes roadway
widening, new traffic signals, and improved access to DRMC. The job is
scheduled to run through late November of this year. The DuBois Mall

TEACHERS - The Mothers’ & Fathers’ Association of DuBois

Catholic
will be hosting MEET THE TEACHERS, on Wednesday, September
22nd,
starting at 6:30 p.m. in the school's auditorium. A
brief
business meeting will be held first, according to Association President
Larry Pegher. Projects for the 2010-2011 school year will be
outlined. Both

Area Historical Society Spirit of DuBois Lantern Walk
ventures into
one of DuBois’ most historic areas, the Penn State DuBois Campus and
its
neighborhood, Saturday, Oct. 16,
with
tours beginning at 6 p.m. Penn State DuBois, celebrating its 75th
anniversary in 2010, is located on what was originally the property of
City of
DuBois patriarch John DuBois. Admission to the Spirit of DuBois Lantern
Walk is
$5 for adults and $3 for students, with children sixth grade and
younger free
if accompanied by an adult. All proceeds benefit the DuBois Area
Historical
