DuBois Regional Medical Center is hosting an American Lung Association “Freedom from Smoking” class to teach people how to stop smoking starting Feb. 1.  Trained facilitators help participants stop tobacco use through eight classes. Attend the first class night free before deciding to attend the entire course.  The class starts at 6:30 p.m. in the Central Resource Center at DRMC West. It is the former Central Christian High School building.  Many medications can now help with smoking cessation. These medications are a component of the program. Financial aid for the medications is available for those who qualify.  The cost of the course is $25 to cover educational materials that the participants keep. The American Cancer Society Daffodil Days are coming soon and volunteers are needed:  Presale Coordinators are needed to take orders within their Business/Company/Church in February.  Then submit to the American Cancer Society.  Orders will be delivered during Daffodil Week – March 14 – 20, 2011.  Volunteers are needed to assist with selling Daffodils at locations throughout Clearfield County during Daffodil week (March 14 – 20, 2011). Materials and instructions will be provided.  Volunteers just show up at their confirmed time.
