YOu should be able to configure Jaws to read the pdf page by page.

Speaking of publishing, I purchased a subscription to ?Monitoring Monthly,?
a UK radio magazine a couple of months back.
Knowing the online version to be a secure password protected .pdf file, I
explained to the Editor, that I may not be able to access it.
I was assured, in this event, I could have a refund of the STG£30
subscription fee. The Editor explained a text or html version of the
magazine was not possible, due to production and copyright issues. I
responded by suggesting the publishers might like to contact the RNIB or
TNAUK.
I downloaded 2 of 12 issues, but Jaws could only read them in one contiguous
block ? not an ideal way to read 100 pages of text! Needless to say, I
didn?t listen to the whole thing.
I have yet to request a refund, but don?t anticipate any problems in
this regard.
I?m wondering is there another way?
For instance, members of the recently merged Royal National Institute of
the Blind and National Library Service, have access to newspapers and some
magazines via the RNIB/NLS website. Surely, copyright is also an issue with
which the Talking newspaper Association of the Uk have had to deal.
The reason I don?t mention NCBI here, is because (as I understand it,) none
of their magazines are available for download.
Given that some blind / partially sighted folk have an interest in radio
technology, I suppose I?m wondering what compelling arguments can be used to
convince the publishers of ?Monitoring Monthly?, to make the magazine
accessible, while at the same time protecting copyright.
As pointed out previously on this list, there?s nothing to stop someone
running off copies of copyrighted material on tape, cd or in print.
