[vicsireland] column width in outlook express

hi folks
I Want to change the width of the from column in outlook express in this case
because the length of the message received from someone at the VIPs mailing
list takes about a month to say.
e.g. jaws says
Joe bloggs left bracket vips Ireland right bracket re .
can I adjust the width of the 'from' column so that jaws just says in the case
above joe bloggs vips.
I went into the view menu and columns and adjusted the pixel width for this
column but nothing happened.
