Maureen, Does this braille.dll problem relate to your 3.5-inch floppy problem, or not? It doesn't sound as if it has anything to do with it at all; but JAWS creates more than passing strange problems at times with seemingly unrelated devices and program software/installations. The correct thing for you to do, then and now, would have been to do a find files & Folders for this errant braille.dll file. (And you would have saved yourself from trying to repair JAWS7!) Apparently it is not in JAWS, itself, as the following report from me will indicate. On looking ("Find Files & Folders") into my system, I have at least 2. The "braille.dll" file is situated in C:\programs files\Kurzweil Educational Systems\Common Files. (The other ones on my main drive are fsbraille.dll.) Which version of K1000 are you using? One could try sending you a replacement braille.dll file, and you would copy it to the clipboard and replace your existing braille.dll file with it at that point by pasting it and saying 'yes' to the "replace existing file?" prompt. ----- Original Message ----- From: maureen newell To: vicsireland@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, November 29, 2006 6:56 PM Subject: [vicsireland] Re: Problems with 3.5 floppy Well Vickers, eyes a cometh and informed me thus: JFW has caused a problem in Braille.DLL and though I have the JAWs 7 software and done a repair job it has not rectified the problem. Any thoughts? Maureen. __________ NOD32 1889 (20061129) Information __________ This message was checked by NOD32 antivirus system. http://www.eset.com
