In the meantime, be sure that you are using version 6.02 of JAWS, the last
updated 6x version. It is not the first time (nor the last, to my
knowledge) where JAWS is involved in creating a problem in MS office/Word,
which doesn't exist otherwise.

Like Maureen & Ronan, I too have been experiencing problems with JAWS
version 6 when trying to select a word using Shift+Cntrl+right arrow. I find
I am only selecting the initial letter of the word. This doesn't happen with
the applications Wordpad or Notepad. I have tried requesting assistance from
JAWS support but gave up in disgust.
FS seem only interested in getting out new updates of JAWS so as to use up
the maintenance agreements that users are paying for.

I am experiencing the same problem in Word 2003 with JAWS 7.0
It seems to be intermittent. It sometimes goes away if I stop and start
JAWS. I am not sure what is causing it. If I get to the bottom of it I will
let the list know!
