Hi Dave,
Yes, its one of the layered keystrokes.
Hit jawskey + space followed by s to mute synthesiser. Repeat keystrokes
to unmute.
Use jawskey + space followed by the questin mark for a list of layered
keystrokes and what they do.

Subject: [vicsireland] Muting Jaws
Hi,
I wonder is there a keystroke or other simple method to mute and un-mute
Jaws speech?
I'm using web based software in work that plays call recordings, but Jaws
keeps chattering over the audio playback even though I'm not pressing
anything, so I want to be able to temporarily shut it up. A mute function
would be easier than closing and opening Jaws altogether over and over.
NVDA isn't an option as it unfortunately doesn't work with the website.
Many thanks,
Dave
