I don't know if this is much help but have you tried to press the talks bottom
and the up right botton on your phone. this trick seem to work for me if I want
to know how many bars our in the battery.

I have a talks mobile phone and now when I press the Talks button to check my
battery it it seems to have stopped saying Talks and is going to Menue. I am
now unable to check the bars in my battery. Can anybody help me. I would be
glad of any help.
