Hi Eamonn,

Glad that you appear to have cracked it. As with most companies' tech support, FS's JAWS tech support remit is narrowly defined/confined. Thus, they don't or won't give advice on what to do outside of JAWS, unless you catch someone there who's friendly (and unguarded?) enough!

Hi Esmond,

Very many thanks for that.

I’m glad to say it worked.

Now to inform FS, who I suppose should have known!

to be honest, it should have, but didn't occur to me to Google

Regards,

Eamonn

Hi Eamonn,

Searching through google suggest that this is an issue with language
being displayed on the status bar. I don't have exact instructions to
turn this off on 6.5 but can you try the following which work for 7:

open file/preferences/user preferences
Then arrow across to the status bar tab and uncheck the box to display
language.

I don't have a notes 6.5 copy here to give exact instructions.

Let me know if it helps

Esmond

Hi Esmond,

Thanks for email.

I'm using 6.5.

In an email from FS, they make the point that Jaws13 is designed to work
with Notes 8.5, so behaviour with earlier versions mayy vary.

Hearing the wordd "untagged" when using the arrow keys when writing or
reading an email, I suppose, is not too much of a big deal, just a
little
annoying!

The other problem is that sometimes, an email doesn't readd when opened.
Usually though, it will, once I close it and open it again.

Regards,

Eamonn

Hi Eamonn,

Which version of notes are you using?

Hi folks,

Below is a list of the 11 Lotus Notes files I found in the Shared
Settings
folder.

Lotus Notes
Lotus Notes
Lotus Notes
Lotus Notes Help.jbs
Lotus Notes.jbs
Lotus Notes.jgf
Lotus Notes.jsb
Lotus Notes.jsd
Lotus Notes.jss
Lotus Notes.qs
Lotus Notes.qsm

Flor, you’re right, there are some 1741 files in the folder. However,
none
of the Lotus files appear to have a .jcf extension.

Gerry, There are 2 nlnotes files, with jsh and jsm extensions.

Tim, I think you’re right about the dictionary and configuration file
extensions. My problem is that I can’t find the .jcf file I’m been
asked
to modify!

I’m awaiting a reply from FS, and will let you know when I hear
anything.

Would one of you be good enough to forward this thread to Paul Traynor please, as he’s getting blank emails from me. I don’t have his email
address.

Thanks,

Eamonn

Thanks,

Eamonn

Hi, Eamonn,

Is that file called nlnotes.jcf instead of lnotes.jcf? I seem to
remember
something a bit strange like that.

Take care,

If you don’t know where you’re going,

Eamonn,

Even if we haven't got LotusNotes, the stub .jcf file for it is there. Press l a number of times till you get it. (There are 1741 files in the
folder here.)

Hi folks,

I’ve received an email response from FS, regarding each line in Lotus Notes Mail including the word “untagged.” It suggested modifying the
Lotus
Notes.jcf file, located in the shared settings folder.

However, I’ve looked in the folder but haven’t found it.

I doubt if there are many on the list using Notes, but thought I’d ask
anyway.

I’ve replied to the FS email.

File path:
Start/all programs/JAWS 13.0/explore JAWS/explore shared settings

Regards,

Eamonn
