Hi Tony, Page-Down, hit repeatedly as necessary, will do something along those lines! Many of these link-skipping improvements I wrote of came in, I believe, in the next upgrade - which was JAWS4.5. The slowness irritated me, too, before then. ----- Original Message ----- From: tonysweeney To: vicsireland@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, November 06, 2006 12:34 AM Subject: [vicsireland] Re: Avoiding links Hi Flor, The links you mentioned are very useful to know when the opportunity to use them is there! I am using Jaws 4.02 and while I press the letter, n, it does nothing! The virtual cursor is the plus key, I think? I wonder is there a way say, by a keystroke even that one could jump down a few lines in a page possibly avoiding at least most of the links? I would appreciate any further feedback on this. Have a good week, Tony Sweeney. ----- Original Message ----- From: Flor Lynch To: vicsireland@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Sunday, November 05, 2006 11:34 AM Subject: [vicsireland] Re: Avoiding links You might find a Jump To Content link or a Skip navigation link, or a link with similarly indicative wording, near the top of a Web page. Use such a link if present. Or, hit the letter n [a JAWS keystroke in virtual cursor mode] until you get to the non-linked text you want. ----- Original Message ----- From: tonysweeney To: vics Sent: Sunday, November 05, 2006 2:46 AM Subject: [vicsireland] Avoiding links Hi All Could someone take me out of my misery and please if you could let me know how I can go to the body of a web page without always having to go through the links menu? It is necessary of course initially I suppose when going to a website but to have tlinks list coming up all the time is a real pain in the proverbial! Getting there on the web but ...
