Hi Nick,
Well mate, firstly, can I thank you for your very kind words however,
smiles, I think you might be a bit premature on that. The track I put into
our dropbox folder is actually the original of the song. It's purpose was
just to give those interested in participating an idea of what the track was
and how it sounded. Unless, that is, you mean the one which I've recently
sent a dropbox link to the group which was quite a metal track which I
arranged myself and played all the instruments on. If you've heard it, I
hope you enjoyed it. It was all recorded using the Boss Katana Mk2 Artist
amp.

Hay Steve! Let me start by saying how seriously impressed I was with your
track. The technical side was amazing! The guitar work, bass and the
recording, excellent! well done!
However, I dont know that anyone can actually add anything to it. It is
a very good song as is.

Afternoon All,
Sorry for the lateness in coming back to you guys. OK, Clive, I've had a
listen again to your demo track and like John, I don't think there'd be too
much of an issue doing it. As for electronic drums, I wish I could be very
clever and say I could do one but, smiles, the truth of the matter is that
they are all drum patterns that you can freely and easily obtain from
youtube. I'm not sure if they are actually electronic but, I agree, they
are very sonically pleasing to the ear and don't sound like Kraftwork on
steroids! Nothing beats a real kit anyway. I have somewhere in the region
of 20 or 30 drum tracks which, I'm happy to share with anyone who might want
them.
As an alternative, I've popped in a track myself into the drop box under
guide tracks. I've covered this myself before and am currently redoing it
myself as it was originally done in Sonar and I can't access those tracks
anymore. Richard Ashcrofts, They Don't Own Me is an amazing track and very
very atmospheric. Not too difficult and might pose as a good starter if we
have a delay in starting Clives.
Best wishes for now all.
Steve

Hi John,
Ok, let's see if we can kick start this. Please could you go to the demos
and guide tracks folder, and listen to the demo I've put in there called
'Stroke Of Love", and let me know if you think you could start us off with
drums. If you can't for any reason, please let me know if you need any more
input from me first. If you still can't, I'll ask Steve if he'd be able to
supply an electronic drum track. Steve, I was impressed, like Dave, by the
way your tracks in the Katana thread didn't sound obviously synthetic to my
innocent ears. After the drum track, we can add the bass. Is there anyone
who can put in an electric twelve-string, with a chiming sound, as in 'Mr.
Tambourine Man' or 'There She Goes by the La's. If you don't know that track
I can share it, but it should be pretty easy to hear on Youtube.
Best,
Clive

Hi All
I've now sorted out my Dropbox, it's incredible what you just leave
somewhere when you're not used to using it a lot!
I've updated the Musicians file and added myself as a percussionist (purely
in the hitting things sense, not orchestral) and added myself to the long
list of people who can sing. I've also filled in some style info, but
generally I'll have a go at just about anything if I can.
Talk soon, John

Hi John,
Good to hear from you. Perhaps a good way to start might be to hear
from people what they like. I think though, it'll be difficult to
cater for everyone so, perhaps we need to simply do a series of tracks.
Sort of something for everyone. What sort of music do you like playing
John? Have you a particular style, or genre, you prefer? You may like
lots of different styles of music but might prefer playing more
specific types?
How about some sort of ballady type song as a starter perhaps?
Unfortunately John, I think you're in the minority here so looks like
you're our resident drummer. Apologies though in case anyone else
plays drums. I'm happy to lay down some bass and guitar but, I know we
have several other guitar players on board so, all's easy.
Clive, I've just seen your emails as I'm having to resend this email
because I sent it last night from the wrong address. I think it's a
good idea having a list of peoples musical styles etc.
Best wishes all.
Steve

Hi Everyone,
I'm just wondering if anyone has any ideas
guitars, bass, acoustic, electric rhythm or lead? Any of the drummers
amongst you, have you a drum track recorded? Or an idea of something?
It would be really great to make this great idea of Peters come to
some fruition.
the idea of how we might record remotely.
Cheers all!

Hi All,
Many thanks for the encouraging response to
interest, nine so far, to share a DropBox folder.
I've just invited those who expressed an
Whenever you have a song or piece of music that you'd like to
record, please add a demo or guide track to the folder. It should
have a count-in, and if it's the sort of piece where a click-track
is suitable or helpful, then that could also be good, but absolutely
not essential and very much depending on the type of music.
Please then post to the group to say anything you like about how it
could be arranged, and then others can record parts, and we can take
it from there.
If you haven't yet been added but would like to be, then please post
to the list.
Lastly, nothing is set in stone and if you have other ideas about
how to work this, then please feel free.
All best,
Peter
