Ok, so I've had a bit more of a play on the Katana and I'm really starting
to get more to grips with it. The FX are still a little hit and miss but, I
can certainly zero everything off so it's a complete clean signal and then
I'm able to build up on the effects I want. I still haven't quite mastered
how to alter proficiently the types of reverb I'm using or the delay type
but, with a bit of fiddling, I can get there. Delay speed is no problem as
there is a tap delay button which is great.
To give you all a somewhat better demo of the amp, I've revamped a recording
I did a short while ago using my old amp. I've re-recorded a lot of it
using the new Katana amp. I'm actually really happy with the sound of the
amp in a recording situation. I would also like to add that the amp was not
mic'ed up, instead it was fed directly into the desk and in turn, my Roland
sound card. The only EQ applied was on the amp itself. Everything else was
flat. The bass and acoustic guitar was EQ'ed but, this was on the Desk as
they did not go through the Katana. The amp has several ways in which it
can be recorded. 1, conventional microphone placements, 2 USB, 3 and 4 are
two separate methods directly out from the amp via line out or Rec Out. The
latter gives you a control to give the output the sound of the amp properly
being mic'ed up or a mixture of both Air or direct.
