It does sound dead, until the pressure is in the sweet spot between being
pressed hard enough to give you a defined sound, and light enough that you
deaden the string. Then you get the string vibrating against the fret.
Either way, I doubt it's problems with pressure, since Andy said it's only
happening with one specific fret.
Andy, if you can't get it sorted, could you possibly post a recording of
you playing the frets on that string, say 2 or 3 either side of the buzzing
one?
Not saying the sound will allow us to magically diagnose, but it might help.
