I practice alternate picking every day, and it is definitely getting better.
I’m just asking for some tips in respect of wrist position. Mostly my wrist
stays horizontal to the strings, pointing the tip of the pig at the strings.
The angle of the pic changes slightly, slanting down for down strokes and up
for upstrokes, but my wrist doesn’t move very much. I’m wondering whether I
should be rolling my wrist more creating greater movement with the stroke of
the pic? In other words when picking the down action, shut the bottom of my
wrist role so that it is closer to the strings and the top of my wrist moves
further from the strings, with the reverse being the case for up strokes?
i’ve never had any feedback about right hand action, and that includes wrist
and arm movement instruction for when strumming. I’ve just figured it out for
myself really, so it’s good to get some tips for good practice.
