I placed my Kindle on my scanner and here's what openbook said:
Device Info
Page 1 of 3 Version: Kindle 3.3 (611680021)

I can't find my version either. I think it is one of those inaccessible
portions of the Kindle.

OK, today I decided to see which version of my Kindle software I'm actually
using, to determine if I need to update. Um ...where is it? I went into
the settings menu, nope. Checked out some likely sounding things, nope.
Please, Please don't tell me I'm going to have to go to the user's guide
...83 pages away!

Thanks,
Shoshana, hoping for an easy solution, willing to accept one that isn't.

Yes, you can. If the book is in your archives. Go to: "View archives", and
you should find it there. Press enter on the book you want... and...
voila!!!!!

Turn right, then go straight!

         Jeremiah 29:11-14 (Amplified Bible)

11For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord,
thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope
in your final outcome.

12Then you will call upon Me, and you will come and pray to Me, and I
will hear and heed you.

13Then you will seek Me, inquire for, and require Me [as a vital
necessity] and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.(A)

14I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will release you from
captivity and gather you from all the nations and all the places to which I
have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from
which I caused you to be carried away captive.
