hi ginny. i have the hd-4th generation-6" fire tablet and also the
newer 5th generation-7" fire tablet which is their least expensive at
$50 although it has often been on sale for $10 off that price.
i also have the new kindle ereader with voice-view and tts audio over
bluetooth. however, i would not recommend that device. i would go with
the fire tablet instead.
you say audible and kindle books, but, you will soon learn all of the
nifty stuff that the fire tablet can do besides reading books.
nevertheless, the nls bard-mobile app for the tablet is a sound reason
to get the fire tablet instead of the kindle ereader.
others on this list have gone with the 8" version and they can state
their reasons. but, i find the 7" fire tablet to be a super bargain.
although i had a ton of computer experience, the fire tablet which i
bought about one and a half years ago was my first touch device. there
was a learning curve, but, practice made it a pleasure to use. i pull
it out every day. and, some of those tasks are basic including reading
my email. love my fire!
and, by golly, you are a lucky one to be able to go into a rare amazon
brick-and-mortar store! i can only dream about that in ohio.
