Well, William, I certainly see your point. In fact, when I first turned on the
hands-free Alexa, I figured I would use it downstairs, where I don’t have an
Alexa device. You are supposed to be able to use it with the screen locked.
That is, at least this is what I thought, if you have your device in the case
and the cover is closed, and you said a lady, do such and so or what is such
and such or whatever, it would work. It starts to, and then it shuts off. So
for me at least, it was not helpful. I mean if my screen is on, I can just
press and hold the home button. Maybe I’m not understanding something.

Battery life is less. I have hands-free Alexa on an HD 10. I turned it off.
It’s annoying. If you have your HD with hands-free Alexa in the same room as
any other Alexa enabled device, and you tell your echo or whatever to do
something or ask something, the fire tablet will also try to go off an
answer, except then it stops in the middle because the screen locks again.
All in all, I see no reason to get this new HD eight.
