Hi Laz,
Thanks for letting me know. My difficulty controlling VV is due to the
lack of keyboard control. I can, of course, use the touch screen to control the
program, more or less, but I prefer, and am much more certain on, the keyboard
interface. Honestly, though, the touch screen thing wouldn't be a huge problem,
particularly with the good braille. The voice on the unit, though, is a serious
problem.

Subject: [vi-kindle] Re: starting Talkback on Fire 7
Hello Aman,
Although someone on some list or other had claimed it could be done it was
never explained or proven. As far as I know one can't use TalkBack on a fire
tablet. However i"ve heard one can use Shine Plus which is another Android
screen reader. I don't think one can use any other TTS than the Ivona voices
either.
You stated you have trouble controlling VoiceView. Have you gone through the
interactive tutorial to learn its gestures?

Hi all,
I am having issues with VoiceView, both in controlling
it (lack of keyboard support), and in hearing it (lack of eloquence support).
I
have installed talkback without difficulty. I can, however, not start
it at all. I can't find it in accessibility settings, though select to
speak is there, and quick shortcut maker is not giving any method to
turn it on. If I may ask, has anyone been able to start Talkback on
the fire and how was it possible?
Thanks,
Aman
