Hi Cathy.
I wouldn't think it's quite that noisy, it's no more intrusive than someone
typing on a laptop. I have one here in front of me, so feel I can make that
comparison. Smiles. There's another device coming on the market in January
apparently called the Braille Me. We'll see if that happens and what that's
like. This one has a release date, and will be $400 instead of $450. We'll see
,₣ that other one is released and if the Orbit reader ever is. I think it will,
a lot of organizations around the world had a lot of 'volvement in its
development.

I thought I would want the Orbit Reader until I heard it demonstrated on a
podcast. When it refreshes, it makes a noise that reminds me of a rattlesnake
in western movies. I use a Braille notetaker for following along with the
order of worship at church, where a noise like that would be most unwelcome.
