Hi Colleen. You are correct. The Kindle ereaders are just that, read
only. Which for the most part means reading books. Got to jump to the
tablet for apps including email, which is a default app on the Fire.
By the way, another plus of the ereader is it, when on, will hold a
charge for weeks not just hours. The compact size of the Kindle
ereader with audio over bluetooth is 6.25 inches by 4.5 inches. My
daughter just measured it for me! Stay well. William

I suspected it was an eReader and not a kindle fire.
So the Bluetooth is audio out only, nice size and weight for reading.
You can put email and apps on a kindle fire tablet but probably not an
eReader.
