Hi Carol. I spent a bit of time within the Alexa app on my Fire.
I could find nothing to increase the volume of the chime, but, other
interesting stuff.
Took the time to send feedback from within this app and asked about
the chime volume and if possible to change. We'll see what kind of
response I get.
The volume boost app suggested by Amazon help that I earlier spoke to
is called "speaker boost". I installed, however, it did nothing to
increase the volume of the Alexa chime.

You're not alone in hearing this chime. That's why I often use
ear-buds or my headphones. But, volume control? Yes, that should be an
option. On my short list for the accessibility team, or, just a short
email to Peter himself!
