Oh definitely. I am not advocating dumping ones Apple product in favor of the
Kindle fire. If I could only have one thing, it would be an iPhone. Hands-down.

True, but Apple has apps that can't be found in the Kindle store. It would
be hard for me to do without voice dream reader. From what you said, the
android app isn't as good as the ios version.

The iPhone is more restricted than the Kindle access. With Kindle, you can
access your audible books, your Kindle books, your Amazon Music and your
movies. And you do it all with a native apps, not with some ad on app that
may or may not be accessible. It's unfortunate that Apple has an opened up a
little more in this respect.

You can do that with a ios device using a lightning flash drive. The best
one I ran across is the Ibridge by Leef. They are in the process of making
the app fully accessible with voiceover.

Interesting. Now, if they would let the iPhone do that...?

Subject: [vi-kindle] kindle fire and usb flash drives
hi. i'm not sure i brought up this subject before, but ...
i own the kindle fire 6" fourth generation which i bought in august of
last year running the newest os upgrade 5.x.
i learned this early on, but, in my case, especially since this kindle
fire model does not have an external removeable micro card slot.
with the use of a micro to usb dongle, it is easy enough to access
removeable media with a connected flash drive.
connected, a window pops that says the kindle fire found this external
device. tapping ok the files are loaded by the system so that you can
access them. they are not downloaded to the kindle fire; just
accessed.
i then find the files in the homepage icon called "recent downloads"
and swipe through them. mostly this for mp3 files that i rip from my
cd's or videos from youtube that i save as audio files. but, other
uses and types of files you can access exist of course.
the dongle can be found on amazon. you don't need to spend more than
about five bucks. i have several. might be even an add-on to your
other purchases.
that's the skinny. enjoy the weekend!
stay well ... william
