Hi Mary. Cheap? I agree. Piece? I agree. Junk? No way! Speakers? There
isn't a hand-held digital device that does justice to audio through
their speakers. Zilch! I always listen with ear buds whether wired or
bluetooth. The stereo audio is stellar on the Fire.
Whether I am using my laptop, phone or Fire, I'm wearing headphones or
ear buds. Because, print disabled, loud-speakers are an intrusion for
family/anyone around me. It's just common courtesy.
However, in special cases, if I want audio through the air, I just
hook up my Fire to the stereo system if wanted. The Fire works as a
great pre-amplifier.
You want to talk battery life, processor, RAM, standard internal
memory? You've got a case. Especially my ancient 6 inch 4th generation
Fire. This new 8 inch 10th generation? Much better specs.
You are correct. You get what you pay for. However, I'm not about to
pay (6 to 8 times) $400 plus for that so-called increased value!
Speakers? Get real!
Stay well. William
