yes, i use a l e x a to listen to my kindle books now. the only problem is,
that my husband is usually asleep when i am crocheting, and to use my voice to
start and stop the book is not good. i don’t want to wake him when trying to
do my work and reading. i wish there was a manual start and stop putton for
these occasions.

Boy do I understand your frustration about Amazon not letting us have access to
all of those great voices that they own and refuse to put up. I have mailed
them numerous times and never gotten any response. I even asked the guys over
at AT guys who do the interviews for the csun conference to ask that question
of Peter. Of course they didn’t. I really cannot stand the Sally boys, and Joey
is OK for some stuff. But not a lot. So I use the Kindle for PC where I have
the Kendra voice, and also an android device where I have the same. But I would
sure like to use my fire to read kindle books, and all Amazon has to do is put
up the voices they own. I don’t know what it’s going to take to get them to see
reason. Good luck with Codecs.

no i got the same result when i did what you suggested. i would probably use
voice view more for listening to books if they would add the ivona voice
kimberly to the selection. i have used a kindle for a couple of years now,
and can’t get use to joey or salli. i emailed peter with my suggestion. i
might be able to get someone to look at my computer and help me find the
problem in a few days.
