Amazon's help information re: Kindle andother matters, despite their nice link
to call for help if you have disabilities is very poor. A friend of mine just
wanted help with registering her Kindle for Mac; we eventually got it done. The
rep's advice was "Why don't you use Cloud Reader instead?" and her followup
email even stated that this had been her advice. This was ridiculous as you can
now download using the Mac's Kindle app (the one that you get off the Amazon
website which may be different than the one in the app store or at least it
used to be) and you can now even listen on the Mac though it stops every few
minutes, The actual issue my friend called about was not addressed and probably
not reported! I suspect to keep people from recording the book. I was not
impressed.

Hi Melissa, Mary. I got a response from Peter. He wants to get to the
bottom of this misinformation. Melissa, I am sending you a personal
email with a couple questions.
Again, you are not the only one that has been given unsuitable answers
from the help-line. For the most part, information given to me has
been less than adequate over the two years that I have made calls to
them.
Peter knows that the non-help given out to the blind community is
counter-productive to all the work Amazon does in this area and he
means business!
His footer provides a tele, and, I will probably just buzz him on Monday.
Stay well ... William

I got the idea that the rep didn’t know what she was talking about. I
bugged peter earlier in the week about another issue, so didn’t go that
route yesterday. It’s all good though. Keep us iformed about what he says.
