Does the Fire require Voiceview or can all features be accessed through Alexa?
If Voiceview is required, do you need that Voiceview dongle that is required in
Kindles? I have a Fire coming today and am quite excited.

Hi James. What do I use my Fire tablet for? WOW. Where do I start?
Of course, I read Kindle books using the Kindle app.
I have purchased a few CD's that also are stored on the cloud and can
be easily downloaded to the Fire for listening.
But, for the most part, I listen to music that I have loaded on the
tablet, ripped CD's and the like.
I also have taken video. The audio is superb.
Alexa is alot of fun to use and it can do stuff like open apps on the
Fire, play radio stations and even read Kindle books.
I am currently trying a free month of Audible. Two free books is worth
the time to learn more about this feature. My latest blog post is on
Audible and my experience so far:

I subscribe to the Columbus, Ohio newspaper through Amazon. It's a
steal for $6.99/month. The full paper, 7-days a week, no ads.
If you are a Prime subscriber (many would use this for free shipping)
there are also free videos you can watch including those with
descriptive audio!
I also started a subscription to netfliks and use the Netfliks app.
I use lots of installed apps and the selection has gotten wider since
I installed the Google Play Store on my Fire.
Some of my favorites?
The installed Email app.
The NLS Bard mobile app.
The NPR news app.
The BBC news app.
The Pandora music app.
The Twitter app.
The Facebook app which besides the standard stuff, allows you to
broadcast Facebook live with no storage memory limits.
The Sero blind resources app.
The OPERA and Firefox browser apps.
The ZOOM video/audio community discussion app.
The Dropbox app.
The SKYPE app.
The Ideal Currency Identifier app.
The Go to meeting/app.
And, I keep trying others often to find out how accessible they are.
So far, haven't paid a cent for any of them!
Lastly, I have found it often adventageous to connect my bluetooth
keyboard, speaker or headphones to my Fire for greater useability and
stellar private listening!
Stay well and welcome! ... William
