Hi all. The Fire tablet can be voiced for the first time right out of
the box without sighted help. Like anything else you just have to know
the procedure. And, it is easy-peasy.

The Amazon website has tons of good stuff on help with your Fire
tablet. Google is your friend in this regard.
Plus, there is instant help right on the hard memory of your Fire.
Look at everything in help and accessibility!
On another note, there is not a "wake" word for the Fire tablet. That
is found on the echo.
Also, yes, no dongle is needed to use the Fire and all of it's default
hardware/software. But, the dongle is useful when first setting up
your Fire; wireless and such. Unless you are good with the virtual
keyboard.
