Hi, Marsha here. Yes the Kindle Fire does support USB keyboards. However, a
regular Bluetooth keyboard is quite a good option as well. You can get a
simple Bluetooth keyboard such as the Finty Bluetooth keyboard. From Amazon.
If you have an Orbit Reader, you can also use it as a Bluetooth keyboard. I
do this all the time. The Orbit Reader is about the only supported braille
display that works with the device so far. The Briilliant line of products
are also supported with the Kindle Fire line of products. Also the Logitek
keyboards might work well with the device as it can do Bluetooth with both
Windows as well as the Mac keyboards as well as Android as well as Iphones.
Just giving you some more options to consider.
