Hi Siena. I think this question came up before. In that case it was
switching easily between English and Spanish. I don't think this can
be done on the fly with the Fire. However, if someone else wants to
jump in, that would be great.
Stay well. William

Good afternoon everyone, and happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadian
listers!
As I am from Canada, the system language on my 9th gen Fire 7 tablet is set
to English Canada, with US Sally as the default voice. I use both English
and French in my daily life, both in my personal life and in my volunteer
role, and work with multiple documents, emails and websites in both
languages. I need to be able to easily switch voices and languages in
VoiceView according o the language of the document, email or website I’m
trying to read. On my Fire 7 under
Settings/Accessibility/VoiceView/Text-To-Speech, I downloaded the French
Celine and French-Canadian Chantal voices, as well as US Joey and all of the
other available English voices. However, when I pick one to use as the
default, VoiceView insists on using Sally. Is there a way to easily switch
voices and languages in VoiceView without having to change the system
language? If not, then I don’t mind changing the system language as I’m
quite comfortable with French, however if I can switch the voice without
having to change system languages, that would make it a lot easier. If any
of you could please explain to me how to do this, I would be most grateful.
Thank you in advance for any light you can shed on this.
Kind regards,
Siena.
