Thank you so much for your prompt response! Yes, I tend to notice this quite a
bit wen a notification arrives. I'll give it a go with Alexa, and see how well
it works for me. I'll be sure to keep you posted on my experiences.

As of a couple of weeks ago, I removed he fork of TalkBack I was using on my
9th gen Fire 7, and have gone back to VoiceView, which works fairly well
with the built-in apps as well as those that I've downloaded from the Google
Play Store. I am however experiencing some strange behaviour when reading
emails in the native E-mail client.
As I'm swiping right with one finger through the body of a message,
VoiceView has this strange tendency to scroll back to the beginning of the
message, forcing me to have to swipe back to the right until I get back to
where I was. I tried uninstalling the Android System Web View which I had
installed from my Play Store app library, but that didn't seem to have
solved the issue. At first I figured that it was just an issue with TalkBack
on this particular tablet, but when I removed it and went back to VoiceView,
it was behaving the same way. I also took the bold plunge and installed
Commentary Screenreader, and still the same behaviour.
I'm almost wondering whether I should reinstall my previous email client on
here, or if perhaps you might be able to recommend another email client that
works well with VoiceView and handles conversation threads in an accessible
way?
Any light you can shed on this issue is greatly appreciated, I thank you in
