Mary,
While I currently don't own a Fire tablet I have regularly used Talkback on
Android at work and I have never been a fan of Android's angle-shaped gestures.
I normally use my left hand to navigate a touchscreen, whether it's an Android
device or an iOS device, but I can never seem to consistently get a handle on
those l-shaped gestures with my left hand. I find that, for me, using my right
hand to perform them tends to give me more consistent results. Android has some
experimental settings which allows you to either tap or double-tap the right
side of the device to begin reading but I don't think this is an option with
Amazon's Voice View screen reader.

Well, I actually tried it a couple of times and it worked. That was a huge
surprise, because that particular gesture on the android devices I have or have
had has never worked consistently for me. The right and then down gesture for
activating notifications works well for me on all devices where I have tried.
But for some reason down and write has never been one that worked until this
fire. It's so strange, those angled gestures are so inconsistent for me from
device to device.

I'm having no luck with it, either.
