David. I had this problem also. I discovered that simply by tapping twice
with one finger once that menu was up stops this and allows continuous reading
to go ahead without any issues.

Subject: [vi-kindle] Swiping Gestures and Text Review/Editing on Kindle with
Voice View?
Greetings!
I cannot get the two-finger swipe that is supposed to start continuous reading
to work. Is there a special part of the screen where I'm supposed to do this?
Is it a matter of swiping speed and/or pressure?
Something else? Same goes for turning the page. I'm supposed to swipe left to
go to next page, right for previous. I find this doesn't work.
The only way I can get continuous reading is to pull the menus down and hit the
'start continuous reading' button, even then, the previous page is repeated,
twice, before reading starts. The swiping shortcuts to home, settings, etc,
don't work.
And, then, there's the question of editing. I still cannot do this, even with
an external keyboard and the Accessible Editor Demo installed. I get key echo
while typing, and can backspace over immediate typos, but cannot do editing and
review using the arrow keys--they move me out of the entry field.
Thanks for any thoughts,
Dave H.
