Hi Rhonda. Note I have to yet do this, however, as I understand it, Amazon will
give you a credit determined by the condition/model of device you have.
Probably not much, but, I would find better than letting the device sit in a
drawer. I've seen a link every time I go to my personal page on Amazon.
Here is what it says on Amazon: Fire tablet Trade-In. How it works.
1. Tell us about your tablet
Answer a few questions about its condition to receive a trade-in quote for your
Amazon Fire tablet or non-Amazon tablet. Even non-working devices are eligible.
2. Ship it for free
Print a shipping label and send your tablet for free—we'll verify its condition
within 7 days.
3. Get credit toward a Fire Tablet*
Once accepted, an Amazon.com Gift Card equal to an appraised value of your old
tablet, plus a bonus 20% off any of the current generation Fire tablets will be
applied to your account.

William,
Please tell me about the Amazon buy-back feature. I also have an older
Fire tablet, and may wish to upgrade, given the right circumstances.
Thanks a bunch! Sorry to bother you. You appear to be the Fire tablet guru!

Hi Larry. You are welcome. I'd be interested in what you think. I am
tempted to give this tablet a go even though I have three Fire tablets
already.
However, they are older models. Maybe get a few bucks with a Amazon
buy-back of one or more? Got to think this through!
Stay well. William

Hi Larry. As I understand it, this model has the camera on the left side.
Really can't speak to the Show.

Hi all. Considering the question. All of the default apps on this
Fire tablet are Amazon accessible, which means alot. Third-party apps?
Install and find out. That's what I have always done! new amazon
fire tablet 8. The 10th generation, 8 inch Fire tablet. Sells for
$60 in the 32 GB version. Here are the specs as found on the Amazon website.
1. Special offers display on your device's lockscreen. NOTE: I don't
consider this a problem since you can get to the home screen simply
with a three-finger upward gesture.
2. 8" HD display. I'm blind, really don't care. LOL!
3. Internal storage (32 or 64 GB).
4. External SD card storage up to 1 Terabyte. NOTE: You read that
right, terabyte.
5. All-day battery life - Up to 12 hours of reading, browsing the
web, watching videos, and listening to music.
6. Now with USB-C for easier charging. Fully charges in under 5
hours (with included cable + adapter).
7. 2.0 GHz quad-core processor with 2 GB RAM. NOTE: These are major
upgrades as opposed to these specs for my 4th Generation 6 inch Fire
and 5th Generation 7 inch Fire tablets.
8. Enjoy your favorite apps like Netflix, Facebook, Hulu, Instagram,
TikTok, and more through Amazon’s Appstore (Google Play not
supported). NOTE: Still, think, if desired, you can side-load the
Google Play Store as in the past. Amazon just making it clear that
the Google Play Store isn't a default application.
9. Introducing Game Mode - A distraction-free and optimized gaming
experience. NOTE: I wonder what this is all about?
10. Hands-free with Alexa, including on/off toggle. NOTE: Just like
the Echo, no buttons to tap. However, the toggle is new to me. I
just know you can engage hands-free or not in settings. Maybe the
word toggle is just promotional language.
11. 2 MP front and rear-facing cameras with 720p HD video recording.
NOTE: No great shakes. However, if you connect to ZOOM or any of the
other video/audio communication platforms like I do with my Fire
tablet, this feature gives you a face.
12. Dual-band, enhanced wifi. NOTE: No real change here.
13. Audio: 3.5 mm stereo jack and integrated speaker; external
volume controls. NOTE: It says speaker, which means one speaker. For
stereo you need ear-buds/headphones or stereo speakers. However, I
find the experience on my older Fire tablets in this regard to be
very good. I listen to alot of Amazon Unlimited Music. However, the
unboxing video says two speakers. Maybe an Amazon typo.
14. Sensors: Accelerometer, ambient light sensors.
15. Location services: Location-based services via wifi.
16. Built-in Bluetooth: 5.0 LE with support for A2DP compatible
stereo headphones, speakers, microphone, and LE accessories.
17. Accessibility features: VoiceView screen reader enables access
to the vast majority of Fire tablet features for users who are blind
or visually impaired using text-to-speech or a connected refreshable
braille display. Screen magnifier enables viewers to zoom in and
out, and pan around the screen. Fire tablets also include
accessibility settings for Closed Captioning, Font Size, High
Contrast Text, Color Inversion, Color Correction, and Convert Stereo to
Mono audio.
(Captions are not available for all content.)
18. Included in the box: Fire HD 8 tablet, USB-C (2.0) cable, 5W
power adapter, and Quick Start Guide. Generation: 10th generation -
2020 release.

That's the skinny. For $60 bucks, $30 off regular price, not a bad
deal! Stay well. William
