Okay. I knew about using the home key to activate alexa to give a command, but
i found out the latest kindle fires lets you use the wake word and a command
while accross the room. That’s not the big issue. I am having braille display
issues so may contact amazon tomorrow.

Another note: Amazon just made a new update to the Fire OS.
The recent button at the head of the app list has been removed, and,
you will now find at the end of the app listing on the home page a
complete listing of a weather update followed by your most recent
opened/used apps.
It took me a few minutes to figure this out, since I used the recent
button alot. It reduced the number of apps listed on the screen. Now,
I just mouse my finger near the bottom to find the recent apps.

year old, mine may be to old for this feature. Also someone told me that
alexa on the fire can be voice activated. Does this only apply to newer
models? And for anyone using a braille display or keyboard, it seems to me
to pull up things slower than other devices i have used in the past. I like
the kindle, and deffinetely the voices, but it seems slow in pulling up aps
and books sometimes.
