William. Can you get Opera without having the google play store on the fire
tablet? I do find silk a little clumsy but don't know if this is silk or the
android experience as a whole.

Hi. Let me first say that I like using Opera rather than Silk.
But, you should not have any problem doing a focus/enter text with Silk.
As for editing text boxes, you should only have to swipe till you hear the text
box focused and then double tap on the screen. I aim for the center.
The virtual keyboard should then come up and you do your keying thing.
If not, I would blame it on the manner in which the webpage was configured.
And, I have found that getting into that text box can be managed with a
keyboard. That is why I always carry around a bluetooth keyboard. However, I
have found it quite rare for needing this alternative method.
Stay well ... William

Hello all,
I was recently at a hotel, and was attempting to sign up for wifi on
my fire HD 7 tablet. When you do this, you have to use a browser to
put in your name and room number. So, when I managed to access the
edit boxes to put in the information while using the Silk browser, the
edit field would not activate, and of course the keyboard would not
come up, so I could put in my name and room number. Also, I was only
able to access the edit field in both cases by swiping. If I drug my
finger around the screen, I could not locate the edit fields. Is this
a bug?
Thanks.
