This is solved. It was plain and simple a focus issue of some kind. I
finally got a sighted person to watch me and she said "done" just wasn't
where it appeared to me to be to tap. I turned voice view off and she
entered the info and the verification code went through after which there
was a permission to allow Amazon to access it and she agreed to that and my
gmail account was set up. Then I had her turn voice view back on for me in
accessibility.
