to answer your question. i don't know if they won't return, but, if
you double tap and hold on those icons you don't want to appear on the
home page, you will get an option for most to delete from the home
page and on some to delete from the fire.

Yes, I was in the right place in the music my cloud etc. I went to Google
and learned that I was supposed to authorize my device in certain settings
on the Amazon manage devices page. It was authorized. A reboot solve the
problem, but I'm not sure why. Oh well. At least it is working now. On a
related note, is there a way to clear off all the extra junk that shows up,
such as things that are not downloaded to the device like the Wall Street
Journal in audiobooks, which I don't even want but I am stuck with because
of my platinum audible subscription? I'm trying to make the home screen as
clean as possible. I have turned some things off in settings, like
recommendations it wants to give me. But there still stuff showing up that I
would like to get rid of.
