I use the Overdrive site on my PC as the UK RNIB use it as the deliverer of
their Audio Book library and I agree that it is usable, though I have to use
various techniques such as using G key to jump to areas of the page I need to
be.
However allegedly Overdrive on portable devices is supposed to be much more
difficult.
I had been looking for a more generic Book Player for eBooks and Audio Books on
the Fire and wondered if Overdrive would fit the bill but it does not seem
so. If Voicedream Reader works this would probably fit the bill more.
If not i will simply use the Fire for the things it is good at.
UK on demand TV seems much more accessible than on the PC based websites for
example.

Hi David. Personally, I think the problem with the app is in entering
text. It is essentially a search engine.
For many, using the virtual keyboard would be a first option.
As for me, it would mean using my bluetooth or attached usb keyboard
since I labor using the virtual keyboard. I would find it highly
inefficient!
So, saying this, I find searching either the Overdrive website or the
Ohio Online Digital Library which has Overdrive as it's backbone is
better perused with my laptop running Windows XP and the Firefox
browser. With that combination, I can make quick headway finding and
securing Kindle books.
It is also important to take time learning the layout and navigation
of the site no matter the application or device used. If that time is
not taken, you will only end up frustrated to high heaven! But, once
learned, it's a no-brainer!
That's my experience.
