excited until the OCR conversion choked because a full newspaper page is 8
megabytes and the converter chokes at 5 megabytes. Ugh! Then I discovered
the ability to "clip" portions of the page which solved the problem of the
jpg size. So I can clip and convert to my hearts content... just not for
whole pages... so we will not have the fact that Maurice Lohortan was sent
to the workhouse for five days when the Sultana steamed away from New
Orleans 21 April 1865 because the workhouse judgments are in a different
corner of the page from the steamship sailings. OK, I give up. We probably
can live without Maurice's news. This is good enough for fictional
characters in a real historical setting.
Thanks for the help... your prompts to seek dis-embedding through other
routes got me here.
