Serotech is an Internet provider which has designed a program
specifically for blind people. I have it used it exclusively for over
10 years. They offer various speech programs as well as links to
resources specifically for blind people. I use their NeoSpeech program
for screen access, their DocuScan program for scanning printed
materials, access to many podcasts of interest to the blind, and their
community resources have provided much information for me.
I have not used any Serotech products on any of my tablets, but their
community member resources have been very helpful to me as a novice
Android and Amazon tablet user.

Hello everyone,
I just recently joined this list. My name is Terri. I am 42. I am
totally blind, and have been all my life. I live in Missouri.
I have some other disabilities as well. I love technology, watching
movies and TV shows, reading, going out to eat, and making friends, just
to name a few things.
I also have a cat who I just adore!
So this gives you an idea as to who I am. Now here is why I decided to
join the list.
I just purchased an Amazon Fire tablet, the 10 inch model. I got it this
past Thursday. I love it! Although it is a little different than I expected.
I am trying to learn all I can about it.
I was wondering, what sorts of Apps can I run on this?
Also, what sorts of games might be available?
And are there possibly different keyboards I could use?
Do any offer dictation?
Also, can I possibly connect a hard drive, or a USB drive to this tablet?
I am thinking not. But I don't want to just assume anything.
I would like to eventually add the Google playstore. I received great
instructions on how to do this.
However, I keep running in to some issues.
