Hi Listers. Did You Know? You can now use your Amazon Fire tablet to
ask Alexa to call or message almost anyone or video call friends and
family who have a Fire tablet, Echo Spot, Echo Show, or the Alexa app
on their phone. You can also drop in on compatible Echo devices to
instantly connect to family and friends.
Newest, and, coolest is the tablet calling feature, which allows you
to call a phone number, any phone number in the US, Canada, and,
Mexico!.
This morning set-up and called, and, it worked! When you set-up your
Fire tablet for this, you will be sent by SMS to your authorized phone
number a text message with the authorization code and then enter into
the tablet form. Then presto, you call anyone on your contact list or
just say the phone number. Someting like, using hands-free Alexa, Call
(the contact or phone number) and your tablet will call. Like I said,
did this operation this morning and called a friend with my Fire
tablet to his phone and talked for 45 minutes. You can even mute your
microphone and end call. Both are buttons on the screen. Give it a
whirl!
Note, I am in the US. I can call anyone in the US, Canada or Mexico
for free! Just another way of communicating! Hands-free to boot!
Setting up, your phone can be either IOS or Android. I used my Android
phone! No problem!
