From what you say, I take it you can no longer read Kindle books that you
have bought on the Kindle Keyboard?

Hi Lana. Making this much too complicated. It was cheap and it works
as well as my original, although can't register. With USB can load any
MP3 file, text file that you may wish to read/listen to. Plus, if you
do use CODEX can load by USB Kindle unprotected ASW files as well. In
that vein, perfect for my use.
The Kindle Keyboard is about the same size as a 7 inch Fire tablet. A
screen, which lists the media, when opened a sighted person can read
such a book, the screen taking up about 3/4 of the eReader. The lower
1/4 is the keyboard and buttons including a 4-way with a go-to button
in the center. On either side are back/forward buttons to move the
pages if reading sighted. At the bottom are a rocker switch to
lower/increase volume and another to switch between the media and
screen-saver. There are speakers and a plug for headphones/ear-buds.
It was cheap. If you want one that can register, there are many in the
$25-30 range as well. The keyboard has no feedback (I would agree it
is useless), but, the buttons to get the screenreader to list the
files, open and start the text-to-speech are simple, easy and quick to
use.
Because it is an eReader, the battery lasts forever. It is always
ready to go since I never turn it off.
I have 75 books loaded on the KK, and, even though I read at least two
books a week, my digital bookshelf is always loaded!
If I was smart enough, I would re-engineer this device, get rid of the
keyboard and screen and just make it a quick
text-to-speech/screenreader eReader. That would make it a real small
item fitting in the palm of your hand. Note I have a VR stream as
well, but the KK is much easier and faster to use.

advantage? Or have I missed something. Can you or can you not read kindle
books using this keyboard? Is it a qwerty? or something more compact? Stand
alone or must use with another device like an iPhone?
