I have the following comments.
I can't speak for the Kindle ereaders as I haven't used any of the modern ones
which offer Bluetooth audio. However, the Fire tablet does allow you to unlock
the device and immediately places you into the book you were last reading. This
is assuming that you locked the tablet while reading a book. If you locked it
in another app, such as the Silk Web browser, you'd be back in Silk when you
unlock the tablet.
Also, while the accessibility of the Fire tablets isn't perfect it does allow
you to browse the Kindle store as well as purchase content using the built-in
screen reader, which the KK never allowed.
The Fire tablets don't rely on Bluetooth for their audio, although that's
certainly an option. They default to using internal speakers for the text to
speech as well as for other audio.
Finally, if this Kindle Keyboard you're writing about is blacklisted so that a
new user account can't be created this could mean that Amazon has marked the
device as being either lost or stolen by a previous owner. While I understand
that you are able to use it as a stand-alone device I would personally feel
uncomfortable at using a device which was locked down due to it possibly being
flagged as stolen. I'm not making a moral judgment against you personally but
using a blacklisted tablet, reader or computer isn't something I'd recommend,
even if the price seems right.

was blacklisted, so you couldn't register and buy books. Since I use
CODEX to convert that was no problem. Perfect really, since I haven't
bought a book in 3 1/2 years since using CODEX! So, I now have a
second Kindle Keyboard, $18.22 in the door! Pays to shop around!
