HI DONALD. AT 67, I CAN FEEL YOUR PAIN. NOTHING WRONG WITH MS-DOS, YES!

RIGHT NOW TYPING ON MY 12 YEAR OLD LAPTOP RUNNING WINDOWS XP! I LOVE THAT OS.

ON TO YOUR QUESTION. I DON'T SEE ANY WAY YOU CAN GET AROUND THIS.

FOR THAT MATTER, TO SET-UP YOUR BLUETOOTH CONNECTION TO A KEYBOARD,
YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO TYPE IN A KEY FOR THE CONNECTION. AT LEAST
THAT IS THE WAY MY CONNECTION TO MY BLUETOOTH KEYBOARD WORKS IN
PAIRING FOR THE FIRST TIME.

SO, IN THE END, I THINK YOU WOULD BE REQUIRED TO USE THE VIRTUAL
KEYBOARD THAT'S THE SKINNY IMHO.

AT LEAST, YOU'VE GOT A NIMBLE TECHIE GRAND-DAUGHTER. IF NOTHING ELSE,
AN EXCUSE FOR A GREAT VISIT /SMILE.

KEEP ON, KEEPING ON.

STAY WELL ... WILLIAM

Friends, I've gotten myself in a bind with my Kindle Fire 7 tablet. I
fiddled around sufficiently to mess things up such that out of necessity
I opted to restore factory defaults.  I had thought that I could then
locate settings and subsequently pair a blue tooth keyboard with which
to enter the Wi Fi password and anything else which was needed.
Unfortunately, this thing insists that I connect to Wi Fi before doing
anything else.  At this stage, I just can't handle the on screen
keyboard.  Is there any way around this?  If not, I'll just have to wait
until my grand daughter gets here later this week.

I'm too old for this stuff.  Give me MS Dos any time.  I can handle that.
