Oh ok that is strange. Does that mean that when text to speech is disabled, it is only disabled for the kindle keyboard and not for iOS devices or pcs?

The Kindle for PC with accessible plug in read them just fine. According to Kindle CS, since that is considered an "accessible accommodation" it isn't subject to the restriction. It does mean you are limited to reading the book on the PC or laptop, but it can be read, unless something has changed since I last did
